Lord of the Lakes Council Meeting

Team Reports

Pastor’s Report: August and September have been busy with weddings and funerals.

Buildings and Grounds:  Tim White was hired as our new maintenance position.  The parking lot repair is underway.  LED lights plan – see below.

Worship: Exciting fall is planned and underway.  October, Pastor will preach on the Reformation 500 year Anniversary. Thanksgiving service will be at St Mary’s. Discussion about Advent has begun.

Youth: Courtney has a large group of junior high kids this year. Drew Jaeger, Tom Schell, and John Walsh are assisting with large youth group.  Running event for girls youth being held 9/19/17.  New Sunday School model to be trialed next month. Meeting tomorrow night.

Finance/Budget Summary:  We did budget for a $4038 loss YTD and our actual income YTD is $3343.  See Gail’s report for more details.

Stewardship: Share and Care program will focus on 1 or 2 larger, unbudgeted projects at a time.  These special gifts should not replace general giving.

New Business

Electronic Giving:  Is available on our website. Council voted and passed all electronic donations will be paid out at the net rate, not the gross rate (minus the bank fees).  This will be added to our financial policies.  Pull down list/Options are:  General Offering, Mortgage/Debt Reduction, Where Needed Most, Lutheran Disaster and Hurricane Relief

Irma, Harvey, and other disasters: Wayne to look into a future adult mission trip to disaster areas.

Council Retreat: Brennand Airport on Sept 30^th at 0900.  Address: 3282 Breezewood Ln, Neenah.

Wedding Fees:  have been revised and increased to reflect local rates.

Pastoral Sabbatical: discussed and council approves for 2018.

Mailer program: for new area residents. Council declines at this time.

LED lighting project: Council approves request from Buildings and Grounds to start phase 1 of LED project.

Script Program: raises $4500 per year.  Looking for a new person to lead the Script team.

Mental Health Workshop: Pastor Kevin and Drew Jaeger attended a meeting last week.  A team will be set up at church.
